2018 #HereToStay Photo Campaign
We are proud to present the #HereToStay Photo Campaign!
The purpose of this event is to encourage a pro-immigrant climate here at the University of Florida by bringing awareness to experiences and struggles and to show solidarity to all immigrant students on campus, regardless of their documented status.
Here's how you can participate:
1. Stop by our table at Turlington Plaza during the week of September 10-14 from 10 AM to 2 PM and take a picture holding a sign with fact or statistic concerning what it means to be an immigrant student. Upload it to social media using the hashtag "HereToStay." We hope to make a collage of all of the pictures taken at the end of the week as well and tag politicians/agencies/anyone that needs to see this event. (If you're not comfortable with this, please let us know!)
2. Also at the table will be larger poster boards in which participants will be encouraged to write positive, welcoming messages to all immigrant students or about your own experiences if you identify as immigrant/first-generation student yourself. We hope to upload a picture of the board at the end of the week as well!
3. Finally, participants will be able to take a pin with them that they can proudly wear on their shirts, bookbag, or anywhere you want to show support to the immigrant community on campus. These buttons are limited so first come, first serve!
At the end of the day our goal is to show that regardless of who you are or where you come from, we are one Gator community! So make sure stop by with a friend or two and show your support!
