Take Action

Immigrants' rights issues sit at the intersection of every social justice movement. Chispas recognizes that immigration has been predominantly framed as a Hispanic/Latinx/Latino issue for years. The work of Black, Trans, Queer, Neurodivergent, and Disabled immigrants has introduced an intersectional approach and forced our communities to confront how we perpetuate white supremacy and other oppressive systems within this movement. Our work centers on these lessons as it pushes us to understand that our liberation is tied to that of all oppressed peoples and to show up to fight with and not for communities. We welcome anyone ready to learn and grow in this movement and hope that together, we will be a spark in the community!
